We live, today, in a world of accelerated socio-cultural and technological change: rapidly increasing urbanization; aging populations; migration across territories; epidemics of non-communicable diseases (NCDs); the existential threat of climate change; and high levels of environmental degradation.

Adopting an integrated model of health, and an Earth Systems approach, Rise.Health Solutions designs sustainable, place-based solutions to emerging and future climate risks (e.g. extreme weather events, including heat and floods, and hazardous environmental conditions, including air pollution). We explore the connections between these risks and population health, especially for vulnerable populations (stratified by age, gender, race/ethnicity).

At Rise.Health Solutions, we

  • articulate new scientific  concepts, and define new models of the relationship between population health,  the environment (both natural and built), and climate change

  • draw on a suite of inter-related scientific disciplines (sustainability science, climate science, geoinformation science, behavioral science, data science)

  • leverge the latest technological advances in AI and machine learning, remote and urban sensing, AR/VR, and digital platforms

The goal is to design and future-proof a modular and extensible ‘climate-safe’ toolkit to protect living systems (human, natural) and the built environment, maximizing health resilience in urban ecosystems.

Rise.Health Solutions collaborates directly with urban partners to reduce the climate footprint, minimize health inequities, build capacity and resilience.
